And so it begins...

Welcome to my new fitness blog. I've taken it upon myself to commit to a total body fitness plan, involving strength training, cardio and most significantly, the 30 Day Shred.

The Goal:

Simply put, "Get fit." I want to see muscle definition in my calves, thighs, abs and arms. They're looking awfully padded right now. I also would love to be able to run 5k. It's my dream endurance peak.

The Plan:

Fitness:

30 Day Shred Every other day (or everyday if I don't die).
On non-shred days, use Spark People generated strength plan. Details to come.

When the advanced level of the 30DS becomes "easy," I'm heading on to cool runnings and starting their C25K (Couch to 5K). Theoretically, this won't be too bad after the 30DS...I hope.
And what next you ask? Next, the P90X+ (oh the horror).

Diet:

Not so much of a diet per se, seeing as I'm not looking to lose weight - just attain better overall health and fitness.. I will be concentrating on avoiding sweet temptations, eating more fruits & veggies, choosing healthier foods overall and eating smaller proportions - I'm a big fan of full plates.
